Customer service at Frank Baines is exemplary. The knowledgeable and passionate team ensures each saddle meets individual needs and preferences. Their leatherwork extends to bridles and reins, all reflecting the same high standards and elegant designs.

Patience and understanding of what I needed in a saddle as well as making sure it fitted my horse properly to ,and brilliant aftercare ,they don’t just sell you a saddle and that’s it

The whole journey has been an absolute pleasure

I’ve had so many bad experiences buying saddles, it’s so refreshing to deal with experts who know their trade and on top of that, excellent service.

Thanks again for all you have done

The quality and fit of Frank Baines saddles are exemplary. As a professional saddle fitter, I know that there are models to fit a wide variety of horses; I also know that if I send a template to order a bench-made saddle, it will be made to spec, and will fit when it arrives. Cannot say enough good about Frank Baines saddles.

Built on generations of craftsmanship

Our journey began in 1964 when our founder, Frank Baines, started his apprenticeship at just 15 years of age. Under the guidance of a skilled craftsman, he mastered the art of saddle making and developed a lifelong passion for the craft, together with a deep understanding of how to create saddles that don’t just look beautiful, but perform beautifully too.

After a fire destroyed the factory where he worked, Frank and his wife Jane, a skilled leather machinist, began producing saddles in their kitchen. Their exceptional craftsmanship, attention to detail and horse-first approach quickly earned Frank a reputation as one of the world’s finest saddle makers.

In 1981, Frank Baines Saddlery was born, establishing its home in Walsall, the historic heart of England’s leather and saddle-making industry.

Today, Frank’s legacy is carried forward by his children, Garry and Victoria, who lead the family business with the same passion for craftsmanship and the same fundamental belief that has shaped Frank Baines from the beginning: put the horse first, and everything else follows.
