How do I clean the patent leather on my saddle?

Patent leather is a popular choice on customisable saddles and requires special care to keep it clean. You should be aware that patent leather is a treated fashion leather and not a traditional saddlery leather. This means it is less hardwearing and it may crack, or the colour may rub off when exposed to friction created whilst riding.

To clean:

Wipe with a damp soft cloth
Follow with another clean dry cloth to buff to a shine.
